“And everyone else can just fuck off. I didn’t ask to be placed at the beginning of the week, did I? No! If I could have it my way, I’d love to be a partying day like Saturday or Friday or even a relaxing day like you!” Monday shouts. “I don’t like being the fucking bad guy that means the weekend if over. But does anyone else care about that? Of fucking course not. They can’t see me! Or how I feel. They can only see what I am that makes them unhappy.” Monday plops down onto the seat next to Sunday and buries its face in his hands.

“I’m sorry,” Sunday says softly as it reaches out to rub Monday’s back. Monday’s head jerks up to look at Sunday, and Sunday pulls back, a light blush sneaking onto its face.

“I know,” Monday says.

“I don’t hate you,” Sunday offers. “I like that you’re the day that comes after me.”

Monday smiles. “That’s literally the only good side of being where I am, you know?”

“Really?”

“Yeah. I don’t think I’d be able to handle it if anyone else.”

In that moment, Sunday feels braver. Feels braver, and thinks maybe, maybe this is the right moment.
